10 Activities to do at Home With Kids This Christmas
It’s hard to know what to say or think about this year as a whole, and now it’s Christmas. I’ve been finding it challenging to keep occupied at home this winter as so many of the activities we would usually do sadly aren’t an option this year. That being said, I thought I’d share a few activities we are enjoying or plan to do! 1. Bake Cookies I don’t have great luck with cookies but I give them a try every year! We usually make molasses cookies (and go crazy with the decorating) and my grandma’s shortbread. Here’s the recipe if you want to give the shortbread a try! Grandma’s…

Project DIY: 70’s Armoire
We love a good DIY project! Not only is it fun to give new life to old things, it is a great way to keep items out of the landfill. Part of a sustainability mindset is finding ways to use what we already have and therefore purchase less. The DIY Project: Making over a 70’s cabinet into a stylish armoire Why I Love It We were turning our den into a bedroom for our little girl but had to solve the problem of a closet as the room doesn’t have one! Waste Reduction Week: Upcycled T-Shirts
This past August we featured a series that focused on five fast fashion facts and five questions with a sustainable, slow fashion brand. Dryer…

Project DIY: Refinished Chairs
The DIY Project: Cleaning and Updating Wooden Dining Room Chairs Why I Love It These chairs, while visibly grungy, still had a lot of character. These chairs are solid wood and have beautiful carved detailing on the legs. It is rarer to see chairs with unique detailing on the backrest, so that made these extra special as well. It is worth looking passed the dirty surface on these as dirt is easy to wash away. The Plan The plan for these chairs is to give them a good clean, a fresh coat of paint and new fabric for the seats. Supplies List This list includes affiliate links. As an Amazon…
