Two years ago when I moved, I received a second hand bed frame that was a different size than my previous one. This meant that I needed to start the search for new sheets and I quickly realized that sustainable bedding options were not widely available to me.

I not only wanted to find a sheet set that had a smaller impact on our environment, but I also wanted to buy from a company that shared my values for protecting our planet and encouraged being a conscious consumer.

One aspect I began to focus on was the fabric of the sheets because this has a potentially large impact on the planet. Terrera Bamboo Sheet Set Review

I was gifted a beautiful, grey bamboo sheet set so I could share my honest thoughts with you all about them. We first mentioned them a couple of weeks ago in our Sustainable Gift Guide as I think they are a perfect item to gift to a loved one!

Terrera describes these sheets as “cool-to-touch, ultra-soft, and luxurious” and I couldn’t agree more. As someone who loves curling up all warm and cozy-like in bed, I wasn’t sure what the cool-to-touch aspect would mean for someone like me. They are obviously cooler than my warmth-absorbing flannel sheets, but they are truly so soft that I didn’t mind at all. The softness of these bamboo sheets cannot be overstated. There is a silky smoothness to them, but with a more comforting, thicker texture than silk would be.

An unexpected result from these bamboo sheets is that they helped to regulate my body temperature better through the night and I didn’t wake up too hot or too cold at any point. This was such a welcome surprise! I can overheat during the night, so these sheets helped me out with this.

With a 400-thread count, these sheets look and feel like they will last for years. That’s important to me because a sustainable purchase means not just something made from sustainable materials, but also something that doesn’t need to be frequently replaced.
