The ideas!

  1. Mummy Dogs

Wrap your kids’ favorite hot dogs in strips of refrigerated biscuit or crescent roll dough to create adorable mummy dogs. Leave a small gap for the eyes, and add two edible eyes (you can use mustard or ketchup) to make these little monsters come to life. Bake them according to the package instructions, and you’ll have a spooky yet satisfying lunch option.

Another fun idea – spooky donuts!
  1. Jack-O’-Lantern Quesadillas

Turn ordinary quesadillas into Jack-O’-Lanterns with a few clever cuts. Use a pumpkin-shaped cookie cutter to create pumpkin quesadillas. Fill them with cheese and your choice of ingredients, and cook them in a skillet until they’re golden brown. For the finishing touch, use slices of black olives for eyes!

  1. Bat and Ghost Sandwiches

Transform ordinary sandwiches into spooky shapes by using Halloween-themed cookie cutters. Make bat-shaped or ghost-shaped sandwiches by using the cutters to press through the bread and fillings. You can use ham, turkey, or even peanut butter and jelly for these tasty creations. Don’t forget to add raisins or currants for the eyes!

  1. Monster Apple Bites

For a healthier option, create monster apple bites that are both fun and nutritious. Slice apples into rounds and remove the core. Spread peanut butter on one side of the apple slice and attach mini marshmallows as teeth around the edge. Place another apple slice on top, securing the marshmallow teeth in place. Add candy eyeballs for an extra touch of spookiness.

  1. Pumpkin mini-muffins

My personal seasonal favourite isn’t very spooky, but it’s easy to make, nutritious, and delicious – pumpkin mini muffins! My go-to recipe can be found here – I cut the sugar in half and use mini-chocolate chips instead of large ones. To make them easier to portion for lunches, I make mini-muffins using mini cupcake tins and liners and the kids love the smaller version made just for them!
